The Banana River is a dark and warm place that contains a natural wonder: glowing blue waters which are active in bioluminescence. Bioluminescence is a result of thousands of tiny dinoflagellates, and other luminous marine life moving through the water. The water’s movement cause the tiny creatures to emit natural blue light, creating swirls and whorls beneath the surface. This is a one-of-a-kind experience and many people return every season to see it. All manner of Florida wildlife can often be seen right by the river! There’s a reason we’re called Wildlife Watersports after all!
